Need to sweat it out

I haven't got a chance to really sweat it out lately... the most I got is the immensely irritating stickiness on the skin on the incredibly humid and warm still days and nights lately. Maybe that's why I've feeling feeling more than a little weak and cold nowadays... I'm hugging my pillow as I'm typing this! Need to go running or biking soon~!

I've seemed to have grown older, because I now have a problem about going out to cycle at night! I would worry about the traffic, dangerous cars and buses and trucks, I worry about being robbed, I worry about the 2nd case of a dead body being found this year in the park that I frequent... I worry about being unable to wake up on time the next morning... I worry about being knocked down by a car... I worry about being hit by a falling durian... I worry about my mum worrying about me... it's no longer the "Me" who wouldn't think twice about going to Mount Faber at 2am when the 'feeling' comes, the "Me" just a year ago...~

Luckily, I can still feel comfortable about running at night, probably because it's much safer away from cars and traffic, and I bring nothing apart from a towel and my keys and yellowing watch along for the run, not much to be robbed of... Otherwise I would have not much to do in the nights at all, outside of all the boring studying~

Running on empty

Man, I actually forgot to have lunch today! I only realized this when I was thinking of going for an evening run while day-dreaming in school, and then I realized my tank was empty... only did it all start to come to me... my limbs went cold and my eyes started to seem like looking out through a fogged-up car windscreen... then a McDonalds Double Cheeseburger did the honour of bringing life back into me~

Precious Animals~

I was looking through pictures of animals on the National Geographic website, and found some really cute animal pictures!
This little toad is so much smaller than a paper clip!

The Ninja Turtles are not the only turtles in history to own a set of wheels... this guy also has a pair! It's a "tortoise-wheelchair" because he has lost his 2 back legs...~

Again, another tiny froggy... Tiny but looking ever so happy~

Tiny sea turtle~

This is a baby sloth! Looks really a bit like that sloth in Ice Age haha!

I'm drawing again~!

A view from my bedroom window, on a sunny Saturday afternoon...~
Recently found myself back drawing stuff, after discovering the funs and wonders of Graffiti on Facebook. I used to love drawing when I was very small, even entering in drawing competitions and arts and crafts contests. However, somehow it stopped as I grew up, until I stumbled upon xRong's graffiti for Yuan, and found that actually I can doodle without wasting paper or making any mess of ink, paint and crayons! Not that I'll be selling any painting for money soon, but it's really quite good fun~!

Battle of the Wheels

Singaporean drivers love to use their cars, after plonking so much dough on their beloved wheels. Their favourite part of the car, it seems, is the horn. And after having to spend so much dough just to be on the public roads, it seems that they totally hate to share the roads with bicycles, which have to pay nothing. And, with the currently topsy-turvy economy, it is so apparent that drivers are more often than not in bad moods, so especially after work in the evenings.

Whenever I cycle on the roads nowadays, I get an average of 3 horns a day. I get horned when some vehicle wants to overtake me. (This is fine with me, if it is for good safety sense) I get horned when I venture any more than 3 inches outside the double-yellow lines. For info, under Rule 28 of the Singapore Road Traffic Rules, enacted in 1981, cycling on footways is prohibited. Like any other vehicles, bicycles are to be ridden on the roads. So, stop trying to force bicycles off the roads! Unless you want more reckless noisy non-stop-bell-ringing China and Bangla bikers on pavements trying to knock down your kids and old folks! You bloody drivers choose! I get horned when I am impeded by some bulky trash by the road side and have to stop. Hey, at least I stop by the road side and wait for cars to get by before I turn out into the lane to get past the obstacle! And I'm taking up not much more space than the width of the double-yellow lines. Why horn at me? My conscience is so so clear. I'll let the Gods judge. I have a Class 3 driving license too, and I do try my best not to impede other drivers. I do try my best not to ride in their blind spots, and I try my very best to ride straight and not weave about, even with a big bag of notes and a change of clothes and shoes on my back. I signal when I need to turn or in any situation which I think is dangerous. I check the traffic all-round whenever I turn or go through cross-junctions. Sometimes, I admit it's my fault to be careless and ride dangerously, especially so when I'm tired or stressed and thinking about some other stuff while on the roads. It's times when I did nothing wrong and still get pissed off by some person in a bad mood sitting in a metal box that really gets on my nerves.

It's not all bad though, these Singaporean drivers. I do get wonderful drivers who will wave back at me when I signal to turn or go straight at cross junctions. But for every one of such good guys, I'll get 3 bloody childish wussy drivers who signal back with their middle fingers, and another 5 wimpy drivers who will signal back with their horns and high beams, and one cock who will silently try to squeeze past me with nothing more than 2 inches between me and his vehicle and another 2 inches between me and the side kerb.

But so surprisingly, some of the nicest guys turn out to be bus drivers, especially SBS ones, who will have no problems driving behind me especially on busy roads and when nearing left turns or bus stops. SMRT bus drivers are not always as good, as they love to drive as though driving for pole position at the Marina Bay Grand Prix. And they love to test biker's balls as they squeeze bikers close to the limit (side kerb) with their Bendy-buses. They make Hamilton's first-corner move at last week's Japan Grand Prix seem like courtesy driving~! *By the way, it wasn't Hamilton who forced Kimi Raikonen off the track, it was his team mate Kovalainen. But still it was Hamilton who messed everybody up though~*

Funny-1

In my opinion, F1 is getting more and more "kelong". They started getting into this when they realized people were getting bored with Michael Shumacher winning race after race, year after year, so they started to intervene by changing the technical rules to make Ferrari less competitive. It worked, and led to Renault and Alonso winning their two world titles. And fans started to get confused with the rules changing every year, with tires having to last one race in one year, then teams have to use two different tires in each race in current rules. Next year, teams will be using slick tires again, after 11 years, together with front wings that can move, and KERS which is like the "Turbo Boost" that we get in video games! Now, the FIA is using "penalties" to control the outcomes of races, to ensure that nobody will be running away with the championship before the last race of the season. It started in 2005, when Shumi "parked" his Ferrari at the last hairpin in Monaco during qualifying, and he was deemed to have impeded Alonso on his flying lap.

Fast forward to this season. Hamilton has like what, 6 penalties against him already, like 1 penalty per 2 races! Ok, about half of those he deserved to have due to his somewhat immaturity on track. But his first corner maneuver in Japan, what's wrong with that? Haven't we seen Shumi do that like countless times in the good old days? For goodness sake, Alonso did that during his epic dogfights with Shumi during those better days too! Hasn't been the FIA trying to encourage more overtaking and on-track excitement! Sharks man! And why is Bourdais penalized for defending his position when exiting the pits? Massa spun because he turned into Bourdais's car, which was in front of him! Clear bias of the FIA towards Massa / Ferrari! Those wusses at FIA think that fans would like the excitement of the down-to-the-wire title fight, with Hamilton's lead now cut to 5 points with 2 races left. But their behind-the-scenes-intervention antics has left me so seriously disgusted~

Then again, credit to Alonso, for winning his first "real" race this season. He kept a low profile, avoided doing anything at all apart from winning, such that the FIA couldn't any penalty on him, unless they decide to penalize him for driving fast and for not doing anything wrong. But then, I really respect this guy, for dragging the Renault team from a Q3 team to a race winning team. In this respect, he's really a deserving multiple-champion, in the mold of Shumi. Don't think he has any parallels in F1 currently. If only he didn't show his C*B side last year~

Blurred

Being fast approaching yet another crossroad, this time shrouded in a certain fog of unease that had permeated everywhere so so suddenly. The road choices at crossroads before this weren't the best, adding a distinct lack of surefooted-ness this time around. The travelling speed isn't that rapid now, but so surely, the crossroad is fast nearing ahead. Turn left, turn right, go straight, but no jam-brake and reverse allowed. Time to keep to left lane now? Or keep right lane so that still can turn right or go straight? But the right lane is already so jammed, and it is getting worse by the minute... Turn left? But it is a blind corner, made worse by the fog... Sit back and wait for the fog to clear as the warm comfort of the evening sun rays warms up the earth? It might be a very close call, as the dark of night would be drawing upon ever so relentlessly... the songs of the night insects can be a cheer, and can also be a distraction~

???!

Why are there 2 drains within 4 inches of each other in one small toilet cubicle?! Not to mention another one just 1 meter away from these 2... If the cost of building these drains are included in my school fees, then the next time I use the loo, maybe I'll have to pee into these instead to maximize my money spent~!

Comfy comfy Sunday~

Relaxing on the bench beside the sea at Labrador... Rode my old steed there instead of the faster new girl because she had a blown front tire and I hadn't cared to change it yet... Missed my old girl's full-suspension and gears and big fat comfy yet stable tires~! She aren't speedy like in the past, but she still gives a smooth relaxing ride, if I overlook her creaking suspension joints and shaky cranks and BB~ I love the comfy evening sunshine, so warm yet never threatening to fry me, and coupled with the cool salty refreshing sea breeze, leaves rustling above me, sounds of the waves... life's so so good, if only for the moment haha~!

A stream of light, and a stream of darkness, good versus bad haha~!

Napping

I was watching a lecture recording online at home, until I started to nod off sitting on my chair... The 'tick-tock' of my head started to get so violent that it threatened to make me fall off the chair. I took a nap. Shiok. I love naps~

S'pore F1 video by me~!

Uploaded a short video that I've recorded during the last few laps of the S'pore GP... Kimi's already crashed out (sad Mas...) and Alonso's leading the race by a big margin... Massa's 13th I think... Yay~! I almost hit the SLR camera of the guy beside me when I punched the air with my fist in excitement after hearing over the PA system that Massa's gotten into trouble in his first pitstop haha! Then another guy beside me said that Hamilton's gotten a penalty, think he heard it by mistake (actually it was Kubica and Rosberg), but I thought "FIA's really biased against Hamilton! This's like the 6th penalty he's gotten this year!" But luckily, no penalty and he's now 7 points ahead in the standings yay~!
