Hazy on the outside, blurry on the inside....

Hazy days are back, the accompanying smokey smell is also back after a couple years absence. Actually, I kinda like this hazy screen. It gives us so-spectacular sunset colours, and I prefer the smokey smell over industrial perfume wafting over from Tuas anytime. Wonder if the plant ingredients in the smoke can improve my memory? Hmm... what would happen if forest fires burn over some Tongkat Ali plantations and the smoke drifts over to our island...? Hehehe....

The (not so) Great Singapore Transport Review!

Left home at 0715 to board 187 to Boon Lay, and reached the interchange at 0805, where I joined the spectacular 200m long bus 179 daily-morning queue. It didn't take long to board the bus though... and I reached NTU at 0825, quite fast for what I thought.
Reached my school's office at 0830 sharp, where I submitted my lab report, which took an agonizing 90 seconds in all, before I was on my way out of NTU again...
Taken outside my school at 0834.
Still got time for a quick breakfast, 0840...
0856, on the empty bus out of NTU...
Boarded the East-West mrt towards Pasir Ris immediately, and had to switch to the North-East line...
0941 already... late for work liao leh...
I finally reached the office, after 7 bus stops ride away from Serrangoon station, at 1015... really late... luckily no one killed me for that phewzzz....


Saw these treasures at the office, Rock Records S'pore, Jingru's double platinum award and her earlier signed poster, next to Kitaro's autographed poster!

Met the NTU guys for 'Little Man' after work... after 3 weeks of planning... at times funny but at times too lame that show... this is much better... Inferior Affairs 2! "TKY Ming" handsome boy!

Temporary relief....

Finally, my lab report is out of the way, I'm relieved of studying for quizes for a couple of days at least... I can finally slow down to see the world in colour again... the past days were seen in blurry images and black & white & yellow (because notes are of these colours, and yellow high-lighter pen hehe!)....

One more week, just one week, to reach the climax of my annual excitement season... this time round, it's the season to 亲亲!

School.... Evening.... Night....

Stayed in the computer lab to study, the air-con was too cold for me, so I went out to bask in the nice golden evening sunshine. This was my shadow on the wall....




And this is the corridor at night... so eerie sometimes... I'd freak out if I suddenly see a face staring out from one of these windows!

Rainy Sunday, Rainy Monday....

It was a wet drizzly early Sunday morning yesterday... naturally the best conditions for snuggling in bed under blanket with pillow... we were in Sentosa pounding our shoes and feet over 9 kilometers, but it was fun with nice rounning route and scenary, although with rain splatting on my face and getting into eyes and I was getting asphyxiated as the centimeters past during the run... I was surprised to see so many small young kids doing the 9km run in the rain too... no run photos due to the rain though...


Wet smelly shoes, wet smelly shirt, aching knees and tired legs....


Cla and Friz, both wearing funny T-shirts today! Haha! Friz got bigger b**bs!

Heavy work... like the clouds heavy with rains....

The things that no one (ok, most people...) likes, Work, is really starting to pile up now. Quizes, reports and missed lectures are starting to take its toll, and I'm starting to fall back on my stuff already, which is so not good... Nevertheless, need to rest and relax to continue slogging, since work will never stop coming in, in the near futures at very least, so, I went for a late Saturday afternoon ride in the rain, beautiful sunset overlooking the Chinese Gardens, lantern festival in progress... man I LOVE to ride when it's drizzling!



And tomorrow will be taken up too, I'm finally going for the Terry Fox run, although here in Singapore they call it the Run For Hope. I'm pumping excited, not at the fact that I need to be up early on a Sunday morning though....

Today, someone so special has left the world....

This little critter, my lil' sis's hamster, is now resting in eternity in her own hamster heaven, where food and sunflower seeds keep rolling out of feeding holes and the very best butter-smooth noise-less ball-bearing pivot excercise wheels are found at every corner, where angels will sayang and play with you, where the weather is always just fine for sleep and play, where you little rodent girl's favourite fruits are carried to you by angels whenever you finish your running... for the first time in almost a year, the balcony suddenly seems so quiet and dead without you... I'll be left without someone to talk to, sing to, to rub nose with whenever I feel alone in the dead of nights... I hope that your leaving would give my lil' sis some thinking to do... Ciao, ham ham....


Pontang school yesterday to do invigilation at Republic Poly yesterday, wow the place is so freaky damn nice, comparable to Expo even! Their library reminds me of Lib @ Orchard.... or Lib at esplanade.... they have escalators to a full air-con food court with bakery, they have 7-11... hope my school gets these too... and the bakery's bread quite good too!


Rows and rows and rows and rows of tables and seats... imagine all of these foreigners kids wanting to study and probably live and work in S'pore... plus their parents and brothers and grandparents and uncles and aunts... trying to apply for the same jobs as us, with their fantastic results....

Feels just like 4-D 'jump number' man....

Now I know how it feels when my mum's 4-D number misses by just one number.... Should have just put in just 2 more sit-ups (I just lied on the mat for the remaining 5 secs gasping for help)... or just 0.1 sec for shuttle-run.... and I'll have $100 more pocket money at my disposal.... sayang sayang ah.... so close to $100 more.... and I can't retake because I chose to take my test 1 day before my window closes.... now then I regret, before this I thought I was smart to do so yayah papaya haha!

Strictly no offence to all my fellow brothers who failed... really... I just feel like bitching because I'm just 0.1 sec to $100.... hee! Gracias....

Smokers' Dilemma

I rode with this large group of malay riders from the eastern side of the island just now at the trail. When I met and chatted with them, it was already 5pm.... and so we went into the trail.... most of them were newbies there, so they needed to slow and stop at many upslopes and downslopes, and progress was slow. But we had fun, joking and mocking the slower ones at each stop-point. We sat down at the beautiful quarry on our 2nd lap, for they needed to light up (all 15 of them smoke....). Then it was already 6.30pm, and the light was getting dim and the night creatures were already singing their song. Then, this 50 yr-old 'Uncle' said,'I always regret picking up smoking whenever I stop after cycling. But, whenever I light up during a rest-stop amist beautiful scenary, to heck with all the regrets....'

He then continued with this scary story of his.... He said that once he and his friends were also riding at this time there, and one of them had a flat tire, so by the time they got out of the trail, it was about 7pm and the place was dark. Then they met this pack of dogs seemingly barking at them at the trail exit, and they got worried that they attack. But they didn't, instead barking and chasing after 'something' right behind 'Uncle'.... we then got goosebumps and I suggested jokingly that we better scram since it was already 6.30pm and we were still halfway through our 2nd lap.... haha! By the way we exited the trail at 7pm sharp.... but there were no dogs and the monkeys were gone....

Hope to meet u guys again at the trail.... 'Uncle', Shariz, Ishak, Botak and guys.... it's really cool riding with u people....

Noticed that the corridor outside my school's computer lab was bathed in this nice golden evening sunlight when making my way to the washroom....

End of the week....

Finally, the momentary end to a what I felt was a hectic week. The irritating lab report is now finally sitting together with 16 others of its kind in a big brown envelope in the general office, troublesome graphs confusing data and all.... Lucky that I found a great deal of energy and sustenance from this vassel of brightly coloured treasures during the times of distress and deprivation....


Friz finally got his hands, on his much much much dreamt-about Lumix from the Comex.... but it proved a little difficult to comprehend the finer details of its operation, such as playing back video with sound.... they might as well include a free MP3 player with preloaded podcast of operating instructions for the Lumix.... and Friz can save some dough on buying one too....

It's bike & me time again.... there's a puppy here but it doesn't want to stay still for photos.... it's a multi-lingual mutt whose caucasian master gives commands in the four major local languages! It even responds to 'nandrii'!!!
