Flying 'object' at the airport!

Got to send Jingru off at the airport... then proceeded to take some whacky photos that got the cleaning aunty trying to spy us from far hehe. Somemore... why I'm so suay that everytime I make it there, Jingru won't be able to take photos with us de...? But... heh at least she did say "加油 加油!" to Kiv for his exams tomorrow... *_*' and mine's in 2 weeks time too...

Trying to remember crystallographic stuff in my notes by staring at my lucky crystal... ;D

Fishing Season opens again!

I got to witness destructive interference of sound waves 'live'... we were at the side of the stage but we heard almost nothing from the speakers, because there was another pair of speakers blasting at us 90 degrees across and playing commentary from another side... luckily that stopped when she came on-stage hee...

And now, back to my lecture recordings... dumb "E-Learning Week"! Makes it as though I skipped all our lectures for this week and now I have catch up on the recordings... notwithstanding the 2 assignments that took up so much of my revision time. Now I look at all the quizes coming up, and man am I scared....

One nice nice saturday morning....

First time that I went for a long 4 hour ride alone in a while... It's probably my last such ride till the exams tide over...
Me eating wind on the secluded forested banks of Upper Pierce reservoir... it's so peaceful, the cool fresh breeze... the fantastic sound of gentle waves... no humans around even in the pump station... oh yah it's a public holiday hehe... yeah the wonders of auto-timer camera... :p

Speaking of bite, I had almost ran over a black cobra on the trail (with countless similar encounters that day with lazy monitor lizards too, must be the nice sunshine that morning!) It opened its hood, but quickly retreated into the leaf litter... before I managed to fish my phone out of my bag to snap a picture for a momento. I didn't really want to go too close to it too, after watching Jeff Corwin clowning with one on Animal Planet just days before, these guys can be so fierce if not given respect... I'm pleased to see one, and to know that these guys are still doing ok in our increasingly concrete-tifying 'green' island...

Going lyrical late at night....

Money flows like water down the river... but will it come back as rain?

It's ZW's birthday this time... we had ribs again... this time at Tony Roma's, which cost us the moon plus Chang-Ee and her bunny... consolation was that the food was pretty fine (for the Best ribs in America!?) and the portions were meant for large carnivores prowling on paws and covered in black-striped fur... My meal was a half-rack of ribs plus a half-chicken, probably 2 kg of flesh in all! And we received a one-hour lecture free, from YY on LCD and plasma TVs... the $15k plasma TV was quite eye-... and mouth-opening hehehe....


At the crossroads... take effort to go up the slope and it's only 1km to the trail exit. Take it easy and go down-slope, and it's 6km more trail-riding to go... I went down-slope. =D

The awakening, after the haze....

The '3-piece-super-value-meal' of 3 back-to-back quizes of 3 different subjects in 3 hours is finally down the sewer and history (till the results are announced that is...), not after giving me indigestion, vomiting of several quarts of blood and sleepy, lazy, barely-openable eyes. And no, it's not the gastric flu virus currently terrorising school kids that is causing this...

Ah... the refreshing feel of cranking pedals chasing after SBS buses burning up the dark, empty, still warm tarmac, and terrorising the kitties hiding by the bushes... West Coast Park is still not done upgrading after 2 years? of digging-up and filling-back-in... but it's the nearest place where I can get to smell the sea breeze, *sniff! Why can't the air smell as fresh as the night air all the time?

My home internet connection has been on MC for 3 days already... today marks the first time I post from school... on a saturday...

The haze has been getting worse, the last time I saw the PSI reading on TV, it was 102, it has got to unhealthy levels after all... everybody's saying that looking out of windows give the feeling of being on Genting, although I've never been there before... maybe for this month's Uniquely Singapore promotion for tourists, can say 'scenic misty city view from Mount Faber plus romantic rustic city feel in a modern city where one can smell wood(*burnt) in the air'.... who needs to go to Genting and Malaysia Truly Asia haha?!

It might the the haze, but I've been observing secondary school kids on the bus. I find it so...strange... that when they're sitting together on the bus, even in a group of friends, they would all plug into their individualised iPods and Muvos and stare blindly out of the window, not even talking about what songs they are listening to... as though they are all strangers... And, they would wear the same types of caps, bags, shoes, style, and try to be 'individual' from there... that never fails to amuse me on the bus... Another thing is... they all aim to have 'attitude'... why is their understanding of attitude to be only 'punk attitude'...? Plus, they never fail to irritate me by always trying to 'act cool' by getting off the bus at the very last moment just when the driver thinks that no one else wants to get off... how 'cool' is that??? I really have no idea....
But I do dare say, this is something pretty unique to our little green/or red island, what what we read in the papers about young S'poreans objecting to MM Lee's claims that we have no culture to speak of... honestly I do think that we do have a S'pore culture, unique in the way of language, style and fashion, gastronomic habits and our unique 'everything-not-happy-then-complain-lor-but-leave-it-to-the-Pros-to-do-it' and 'strangers-do-not-speak-to-strangers-except-when-working-or-asking-for-donations-or-risk-embarrassment' way of life. It is still developing, still awaiting maturity, but undeniably we do have it. Especially when one compares the relative toughness a foreigner undergoes when trying to integrate into the 'S'pore way of life'. It's really not just putting 'lahs' at the end of every sentence nor is it just eating 'must-try chilli crab national dish' that makes one Singaporean dio boh....


On a lighter wavelength... It's out!!! I have another calender to put bed-side for another year leh... now, if those sec sch kids are listening to this album, I'll forgive them for remaining so silent hehe....

Haven't seen clear sunlight in days... feels so strange since there's no rain too, neither does it look cloudy (it looks more smokey than cloudy...)
